In the drama Green Book, Viggo Mortensen chauffeurs the black jazz pianist Mahershala Ali on a concert tour from New York to the southern states in the 1690s, based on a true story. For their trip, the two have to use the Negro Motorist Green Book, which runs the few accommodations, restaurants and gas stations that also serve black customers.
