Natura Trails are themed hikes in protected areas, raising awareness of nature and landscape protection and supporting regional sustainable development. A Natura Trail is much more than just a hike. Thanks to the pocket guide, you can enhance your walk with activities, for young and old, and you do not lack information about the fauna, flora and landscape that surround you. Following the project launched in Austria in 2004 by Naturefriends, more than 180 Natura Trails have been established in Germany, Austria and Eastern Europe. The concept of Natura Trail was distinguished in 2008 by the Austrian UNESCO Commission as a project of the decade for "Education for Sustainable Development".
